Tools

The sixteen canvas tools, grouped by what they do.

Tools live on the Creation Toolbar on the left edge of the workspace. Activating a tool changes how clicks and drags on the canvas are interpreted; the active tool's options appear on the Properties Toolbar.

Selection

  • Select: the default tool. Select, move, scale, rotate, shear.

Shapes

  • Rectangle: axis-aligned rectangles by dragging from corner to corner.
  • Ellipse: ellipses and circles from one corner of the bounding box to the opposite.
  • Star: stars from center to radius. Configurable point count, bulge, and dual-radius variant.
  • Polygon: regular polygons from center to radius. Side count comes from the active sub-tool.
  • Text: create and edit text objects. Click to place, then type.

Paths

  • Draw (Pen): Bezier paths by clicking to place anchor points and dragging to add handles.
  • Node Edit: edit vector path nodes. Drag, add, delete, change handle type.
  • Trim: cut a path at the clicked point. With healing, the gap closes automatically.
  • Tabs: add or remove tabs (bridges) on cut paths so cut-through parts stay connected.
  • Radius: add or remove fillets on individual corners. Click a sharp corner to round it.

Transform

  • Two-Point Rotate & Scale: transform via two reference points: pivot and target.
  • Warp: perspective warp via a 2×2 mesh, four corner handles.
  • Deform: mesh deformation via a 4×4 grid of control points, sixteen handles.

Machine

  • Laser Position: click on the canvas to send the laser head to that point on the machine.
  • Measure: display distances and segment lengths on the canvas. Read-only.
