Star

Draw stars by dragging from center to radius. Configurable point count, bulge, and dual-radius variant.

The Star tool draws regular stars. Variants include single-radius and dual-radius stars; the variant comes from the active shape sub-tool.

Activate

  • Hotkey: no default
  • Toolbar: Creation Toolbar (Star and Dual Star are separate entries)

How to use

  1. Click and drag from the center of the desired star outward to the outer radius.
  2. Release to create.

Modifiers and interactions

  • Shift + drag: constrain to square bounds (uniform aspect).
  • Ctrl + drag: drag from center outward (the default for this tool already).

What gets created

A Star object on the active layer with:

  • points: 5 (default)
  • bulge: 0 (default)
  • ratio: 0.5 (inner-to-outer radius ratio)
  • ratio2: 0.7 (second ratio, only used when dual_radius)
  • dual_radius: boolean (depends on which sub-tool you picked)

After creation, edit points, bulge, ratio, dual_radius, and ratio2 in the Shape Properties panel.
