Troubleshooting

When something goes wrong, find your symptom here. Organized by what you see, not by which subsystem is misbehaving.

Pick the section that matches what you are seeing. Each page starts with a "You see" description so you can confirm it matches your problem.

Symptom groups

  • Connection: Beam Bench cannot reach the machine, or the connection is unreliable.
  • Job quality: the job ran but the result is wrong (orientation, intensity, position, banding).
  • Preview: the Preview window is blank, slow, or shows something unexpected.
  • Camera: camera not detected, overlay misaligned, calibration fails.
  • Performance: Beam Bench is slow.
  • Files: imports fail, files come in wrong, art library will not save.
  • Platform: macOS / Windows / Linux specifics (drivers, permissions, security).
  • Crash recovery: recovering work after an unclean exit.

When you cannot find your problem

  1. Check the Connection Diagnostics panel for live information.
  2. Check the Preview, for output problems, the preview often shows the cause.
  3. Send Feedback from inside the app, bundles logs and (optionally) the project.
  4. Post in the Facebook community group with what you see and what you tried.
