Beam Bench Docs

Panels

The dockable panels that make up Beam Bench's UI.

Every panel is independently dockable, hideable, and resizable. The default layout puts the Cuts/Layers panel in the upper-right and Laser Control in the lower-right; you can rearrange anything from the Window menu.

In this section

  • Cuts/Layers: the layer list. Pick mode, set power and speed, reorder, toggle output and air assist.
  • Move: drive the machine. Jog, go-to coordinates, save positions, fire to test power.
  • Console: send raw G-code. Watch every line of traffic in both directions.
  • Macros: user-defined G-code sequences with optional hotkeys.
  • Shape Properties: numeric inspector for the current selection: name, layer, dimensions, power scale, cut priority.
  • Measurement: numeric readout for the Measure tool. Object and segment metrics, mm or inches.
  • Laser Control: connect, frame, start, pause, stop, save GCode, and configure job placement.
  • Material Library: saved cut settings per material and thickness.
  • Color Palette: layer color swatches. Click to assign the selection to a color's layer.
  • Camera: captured camera frame with overlay alignment. Place jobs visually on top of the actual material.
  • Art Library: saved artwork browser. Organize reusable clips into .bbart libraries.
  • Connection Diagnostics: live machine connection state, port detection, GRBL handshake. Open this when something is wrong.

Docking and layout

Drag a panel header to move it. Drop it on a dock zone to dock, drop it anywhere else to float. The Dock dialog lets you reset or save a layout.
