Design and run
your laser jobs.

What it does

An editor and a controller. That's the whole app.

01 / Design

Import, draw, and prepare artwork.

Bring in SVG, DXF, PDF, AI, EPS, and raster images. Adjust photos, choose raster modes, trace images, and keep vectors and images in one project.

02 / Align

Place work with real machine coordinates.

Frame the job on your laser, choose start-from and job-origin settings, and use a calibrated camera overlay when your setup has one.

03 / Dial in

Keep proven settings close.

Save material presets with speed, power, passes, operation, and notes. Apply them to layers, import and export libraries, and build them from real test cuts.

04 / Run

Preview before you press Start.

Generate the same plan the controller will receive, scrub through laser-on and travel moves, review warnings and duration estimates, then send or save the G-code.

Community

Built with the makers who run it.

Feature ideas, bug reports, settings help, and finished projects all land in the Beam Bench Facebook group first. Come show what you made, ask anything, and tell us what the app should do next.

Support the project

BeamBench is free.
Here's how you can keep it that way.

BeamBench is free and we'd like to keep it that way. But hosting, code signing, and the hours behind it don't pay themselves. We fund development with our other projects, starting with two sister sites built for makers. If either one looks useful to you, a subscription or a single order keeps BeamBench moving.

Outside the workshop

Journtell

Not a laser tool: Journtell is our project for preserving family stories. Tell it a memory by voice or text, and its AI story team writes it into a polished narrative you can collect into PDF or EPUB books. Free to start. If you make keepsakes for people, this one is for their stories.

Try Journtell

Not ready for either? Sharing BeamBench with another maker helps too.

First-time install notice: BeamBench is new, so Windows may show a “Windows protected your PC” message and macOS may ask you to confirm the app. That's how both treat new software, not a problem with your download. See what to expect on Windows and macOS.
